Whether it’s a home office or a commercial office, it is the space that separates your personal and business lives. So, the way you take care of your home is the way to take care of your office.
Your office is your work space that’s used for conventional activities such as reading, writing, computer work and meeting people. So, it’s important to keep it clean and organized to maintain a healthy and tidy environment for you and your colleagues.
Ideally, windows should be washed twice a year. This way natural light can provide effective internal lighting.
Every week you should be in the habit of organizing your office stuff such as files, folders, supplies, desk, etc.
We recommend some cleaning tasks to be done as often as possible in order to sanitize every day dirt. Those include vacuuming the carpets (if any), mopping the floor, dusting shelves and surfaces.
Beside these regular tasks you should pay attention to the electronics.
Electronics pick up lots of dust because of static or because of air circulation to cool them. The surfaces of your PCs, laptops, phones or peripherals can be easily damaged and cleaning is a delicate work. Use a microfiber cloth or electronics wipe to dust screens, as these won’t scratch surfaces. Do not use glass cleaners on screens.
Keyboards are one of the dirtiest surfaces in the office. To clean a keyboard, first unplug it and hold it upside down over a trash can. Tap the back to loosen any crumbs. Then, use a paintbrush to whisk dust from all the openings. Wipe the surface of the keys with a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol.
